For the Diversity Trust, Naomi Alormele is a Consultant in:

Naomi is an award-winning researcher and academic specialising in Social Care and working with marginalised communities. She is also a Doctoral researcher focusing specifically on the experiences of Black women working in Higher Education roles. She is a writer, public speaker and activist. She also chairs the university’s staff network for racialised minorities (BAME Staff Network) at Loughborough University.

She has experience of different areas in education and has worked in multiple education settings from nurseries through to higher education. Previously, she worked as a college Lecturer in Health and Social Care and Childcare. She has expertise in careers, mentoring and employability, gained in a former role as Regional School Liaison Officer, teaching support in SEN schools and exclusion units.

With a wide portfolio of training expertise, Naomi can offer insights into supporting vulnerable groups, social justice, racial trauma, anti-racism, racial equity, unconscious bias, micro-aggressions, identity work, gender roles/assumptions and gender equity. At present, she is completing her Doctoral research on the project entitled, “Navigating spaces: centering the voices of Black women working in UK Universities”.

In addition to working for the Diversity Trust as a consultant Naomi also has her own company titled “Let’s Talk Racial Identity“.
