For the Diversity Trust, Almenia (Mina) is:

  • Training Administrator for the Race & Bias Team
  • Executive Assistant Support for the Director of People, Culture and Strategy

Almenia (Mina) joined the Diversity Trust in 2021, providing much-needed support for the expanding training and webinar portfolio offered by the growing Race & Bias team.  Almenia is the bridge connecting the clients with the training consultants and facilitating this relationship every step of the way from the initial enquiry stage through to onboarding and offboarding. On top of this, she goes the extra mile to ensure that, should the clients have any questions, that they can connect with the right person to discuss their queries in more depth.  She co-ordinates the Race & Bias team meetings and provides executive assistant support to the Director of People, Culture and Strategy (Lead for the Race & Bias Team) on an as-needs basis.

Almenia has a strong work ethic having started working part-time at age 14 when her sister would bring home invoicing work from her employer to be handwritten, knowing that Almenia had beautiful handwriting!  With over three decades’ working professionally, Almenia is an experienced all-round administrator with a breadth and depth of knowledge from working in both the private and voluntary sector.  She’s also trained others regarding administrative processes.

She’s actually a community development worker at heart, liking nothing better than connecting with local people and helping to empower them to improve their quality of life.  Previously, she worked for a rural community development agency, helping facilitate community plans and training fellow professionals in participatory community development techniques, as well as supporting older people in the community as they transitioned from analogue to digital technology. For eight years, she also played a key role at One World Week, a development education charity.  This included supporting and attendance in-person at One World Events up and down the country.

Almenia is particularly family-orientated, loving nothing more than to spend time with her two adult sons and extended family.  In the past, she’s also volunteered at local hospitals, spending time with both children and older patients, giving them whatever emotional and practical support was needed.
