
Living Proud in South Gloucestershire explores the experiences of LGBTQ+ people in South Gloucestershire, revealing ongoing discrimination, exclusion and health inequalities. Based on community engagement, the research highlights high levels of harassment, poor mental wellbeing and barriers in education, healthcare and public spaces — especially for young LGBTQ+ people. The report sets out 43 evidence-based recommendations to improve inclusion, strengthen services, tackle bullying, expand safe community spaces and embed LGBTQ+ representation in local decision-making. It provides a vital roadmap for partners and policy-makers to turn lived experience into action and build a safer, more equitable South Gloucestershire for all.
