Lateesha is a doctoral researcher, public speaker and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion trainer. Her doctoral research focuses on Black students’ identity and sense of belonging in higher education. She uses qualitative methods to focus on how social identities are constructed, negotiated and threatened in different social contexts. She is also interested in how those deemed ‘out of place’ form strategies for authenticity and belonging at university. Lateesha is a psychologist whose expertise is in gender, race, sexuality and other equalities communities. She is part of the Western Widening Participation Research Cluster and is involved in widening participation interventions at the University of Bath.
As an experienced Equality, Diversity and Inclusion trainer and consultant, Lateesha has developed and delivered courses such as Unconscious Bias, Racial and Cultural Competency and Dignity at work for public and private sector clients. She has also designed bespoke courses and interventions for clients as well as providing robust impact and evaluation reports. Lateesha is a respected and sought-after speaker who has been involved in numerous speaking engagements including, international conferences, guest lectures, discussion panels, forums and talks.
