(they/them)

For The Diversity Trust, Harry is a Consultant in:

  • Trans Awareness
  • Diversity in Practice – engaging with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) Communities

Harry is an experienced trainer across a variety of themes and settings.  In addition to their Trans Awareness and LGBT+  expertise as a Diversity Trust Consultant, they are also a Mental Health & Well-being Trainer and a Helpline Counselling Skills Trainer.

Much of Harry’s professional background has been in  not-for-profits in health and social care, addressing a range of social issues such as mental health and well-being, harm minimisation with drugs and alcohol, and providing training for LGBT+ inclusive sexual health teaching.  They have been commissioned by housing, social services and education to provide programmes for young people who were excluded or at risk of exclusion.  They have worked in mental health recovery, youth work and Forest School ecotherapeutic programmes for young people with traumatic histories.  Currently, Harry co-ordinates the Mindline Trans+ Helpline

Previously, as an Associate Lecturer, Harry combined both his academic background and practitioner expertise.  They lectured in reflective practice, communication skills, diversity in practice, transgender awareness and queering the curriculum.

They themselves draw on their lived experience and are very passionate about creating transformative spaces in training.  These spaces are centred on our commonalities and lived experiences where people can ask questions, get things wrong, explore new ideas and try out new narratives.
