This is some feedback from a bespoke NxtGen Leadership Development Programme session which Russell Thomas and Pat Rose delivered to NxtGen Bristol in February 2021.

“Pat and Russell from The Diversity Trust headed up a module of a leadership course that we had put together for young insurance and financial services professionals within the Bristol market. This took place remotely during the pandemic, with Pat and Russell teaching us about the importance and benefits of diversity and inclusion in practice, the challenges and opportunities relating to BAME talent development and retention, and tools and techniques to challenge racial bias and race inequality that we can use in our roles as leaders.

The training was bespoked to our design brief and was delivered professionally. The content was both informative and thought-provoking at a high level, and useful at a practical level, with opportunities for us to apply what we’ve learned to our day-to-day roles. Pat and Russell are both excellent and charismatic speakers, and do not shy away from sharing their personal experiences, which helps to facilitate an open forum for insightful discussion. We had the opportunity to ask questions in a safe space, and all questions were answered openly.

In addition, Pat and Russell went above and beyond to participate in extra sessions of the course outside of their module, such as a meet and greet, and graduation ceremony – this was especially important to us, as it helped create the right atmosphere for our learners, given that the course took place remotely.

We would be happy to book the Diversity Trust again, and would recommend to others.”  – Amy Cooke, NxtGen Bristol Chair 2020/21 (a subcommittee of the Insurance Institute of Bristol)
