(she/her)

For the Diversity Trust, Sarah is a consultant in:

  • Autism & Neurodiversity

Sarah has been freelancing at the BBC for 22 years, initially as a radio producer for Radio 4, Radio 5 Live and the World Service and then, more recently, as a trainer for the BBC Academy. Prior to being based in London, Sarah worked in radio in Vienna and Sydney for a decade.

In 2013, Sarah founded the Media Hub, a networking group for freelance media professionals. It has attracted a diverse range of guest speakers over the years, including a former prime minister, a Belgian princess, one of Africa’s leading gorilla vets and an ex-prisoner, who set up a lingerie social enterprise.

With a lifelong love of travel, different cultures and languages, Sarah is also passionate about international development. She is a trustee for a charity called Partner for Change Ethiopia, which works with families in disadvantaged communities in eastern Africa. She set up the charity’s ambassadors’ programme in the UK and a friendship link between her sons’ school and Gende Tesfa School in Ethiopia.

Sarah also has first-hand experience of neurodiversity and has sought to offer peer support to other families locally in a similar position.
